XV · Major Arcana
The Horned One
The Wild Herdsman
The animal in the clearing, which answers to something and is dangerous chiefly when denied.

Upright
Look at what you are bound to and check whether the chain is fastened. Appetite, habit, obsession, the arrangement you say you cannot leave. Naming it accurately removes most of its power.
Reversed
Not used in Raynebow readings - reversals are off in the product. Shown here for reference.
The chain coming off — an addiction faced, a compulsion broken, a bargain refused. Or the descent deeper into it, with the pretence dropped.

The Welsh story
In the tale of Owain a traveller is directed to a clearing where a huge black man sits with an iron club, one-footed and one-eyed, master of the wild beasts. He strikes a stag, the stag bells, and every animal of the forest comes and bows to him. He is not evil — he is the untamed appetite of the world, and the deck names him the Horned One rather than the Devil.
On the card
The chain is not locked.
