Judgement

The Sleepers

The summons that reaches whatever part of you has been dormant, and gets an answer.

Judgement, Flora & Fauna deckJudgement, Llewellyn deck

Upright

A reckoning and a calling at once. Look at the whole record honestly, forgive what needs forgiving, and then move — this is a card about answering, not about being judged. You know what you are being asked to do.

Reversed

Not used in Raynebow readings - reversals are off in the product. Shown here for reference.

The call heard and ignored. Self-judgement so harsh it prevents the very action it demands, or a past that keeps being relitigated instead of released.

The Welsh story

Wales keeps many versions of the same story: warriors asleep under a hill with their gold, waiting for a bell or a horn or the hour of the country's need. Arthur has a cave; Owain Lawgoch, the red-handed prince murdered in France in 1378, has several. The sleepers are not dead. They are deferred — and the story insists that a call will eventually come that they cannot sleep through.
