The Welsh story

In the tale of Owain, a knight who pours water on a stone by a fountain summons a storm, then the fountain's defender, and must fight him. Owain kills the lord, takes his place and marries his widow Laudine — and then, having promised to return within three months, forgets her and loses everything until he earns his way back. Every act in the tale produces its exact consequence.
