The Chariot
Manawydan
Victory achieved by holding the reins, not by whipping the horses.

Upright
Opposing forces can be driven together if you refuse to let either one take over. Hold your direction through the turbulence. Self-command is the whole of the technique here.
Reversed
Not used in Raynebow readings - reversals are off in the product. Shown here for reference.
Momentum without a destination, or a will so tightly clenched it has become brittle. Aggression substituting for control.

The Welsh story
Manawydan son of Llŷr is the most patient of the Mabinogi's heroes. He lost his brother Bran, his sister Branwen and his kingdom, and responded not with vengeance but with craft — he took up saddlery, shoemaking and shieldmaking, each so well that he drove local craftsmen to threaten him. When Dyfed was emptied by enchantment he waited, farmed, trapped a mouse, and negotiated the spell's undoing without raising a sword.
