The Lovers
The Dream of Macsen Wledig
Love as recognition — the encounter that reorganises everything around it and demands you move.
Upright
A choice between two paths that are not equivalent, however you rationalise them. One of them has your whole self in it. Union here is not compromise; it is alignment.
Reversed
Not used in Raynebow readings - reversals are off in the product. Shown here for reference.
Attraction confused with compatibility, or a decision endlessly deferred. Values pulling against desire and neither being honest about it.
Keywords

The Welsh story
The emperor Macsen Wledig fell asleep after a hunt and dreamed his way across the world to a castle where a woman of extraordinary beauty sat on a golden chair. He woke unable to eat, sleep or govern. He sent messengers for three years until they found her — Elen of the Hosts, exactly as dreamed, in Wales. She would not come to him; he had to travel the distance himself.
